Charlize Theron will be seen battling ninjas in the new video for Brandon Flowers’ debut single, Crossfire. With her fighter avatar, the Oscar-winning actress has indulged Australian director Nash Edgerton’s childhood fantasy by killing the black-clad bad guys in the video.

The special effects-packed video shows Flowers kidnapped by ninjas before Theron rescues the helpless singer from ‘The Killers’ with some steely swordsmanship. “When I was a kid I used to dress up as ninjas, so it was a way of getting that out of my system,” Stuff.co.nz quoted Edgerton as telling a foreign news agency.

“It’s about a relationship where one person is trying to get the other out of trouble, I wanted to do something around the idea of Brandon Flowers being saved. I was wondering who could possibly do this kind of thing to him and then it came to me … ninjas,” he added.

Theron agreed to take the lead role after confessing to being a big fan of ‘The Killers and Edgerton’s film ‘Spider’.

The second weekend Box-office of Warner Bros. Pictures’ dream-themed film Inception directed by Christopher Nolan and top-lining Leonardo DiCaprio, was rock solid and scored an appreciating gross collection of Rs.39, 892,195 in India. In the US Box Office, Inception retained its No.1 slot with an estimated chart-topping $43.5 million at 3,792 locations. The drop was approximately 31% in comparison to the first weekend.

Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she changed the name of her new perfume because she discovered that a fragrance with a similar title was already on sale. The former Friends
actress spent months deliberating over the name of her debut scent and finally settled on calling it ‘Lolavie’, which means ‘laughing at life’.

But as the launch date approached, marketing bosses realised the name was too similar to a fragrance by fashion designer Marc Jacobs, called ‘Lola’. Speaking at the launch of the scent in London Aniston admitted that it was too late to rebrand the perfume with a different name, so she decided to call it simply ‘Jennifer Aniston’.

“It turned out as we were getting close to the launch, there was something out there that was very similar and it was just going to get very confusing in the marketplace. And at such a late hour, I didn’t want to postpone the launch so the only thing we could really clear was my name,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have secretly tied the knot, the reps for both the stars have confirmed. In a statement released, Kerr, 31, announced that she has cancelled an appearance at the Australian department store David Jones to celebrate.

“David Jones very graciously released me during this period so we could celebrate an intimate ceremony and honeymoon together,” UsMagazine.com quoted her as saying. “I’m very much a part of the David Jones Family and I am very committed to my role. I am enormously grateful to David Jones to have been given this time to enjoy such a special moment in my life,” she added.

Kerr and Bloom, 33 – who been dating for nearly three years – announced their engagement in June.

Lindsay Lohan’s VIP treatment in prison has made other inmates furious. Even though officials have insisted Lohan is treated like everyone else – beyond getting her own cell – rumours suggest that the actress is enjoying perks.

“She’s getting special treatment. Some inmates were getting pissy over it,” the New York Daily News quoted Debra Sickels, 30, who was released after doing 19 days for shoplifting, as saying. “The girls said they cleaned a special room for Lindsay. It had a regular hospital bed, a TV and a dresser for her new clothes and socks,” Sickels said.

Other just-released inmates said they heard Lohan was paying for special food and new clothes and had a female guard at her disposal and access to a private phone, but officials have denied giving any special treatment.

“She’s being treated like any other inmate in her classification. There’s no special treatment at all,” Los Angeles sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

TROUBLED actress Lindsay Lohan may be behind bars, but she is making more money there than she did in the last year, FOXNews.com reports.

Lohan managed to finalise TV and news deals the night before she went off to jail, reportedly locking down tell-all interviews that could net her seven figures, sources said.

“On Monday night, the night before she had to report to jail to serve her sentence, she tied up all loose ends and signed contracts for exclusive television and print stories,” an industry source said.

“She’ll be doing major television sit downs after she finishes all of her sentence.

Lindsay is going to tell everything about her experience in jail, she will open up about her entire life.”

Lindsay’s mom, Dina, will also be a part of the interviews but her father Michael Lohan will have no part in them.

“Dina was a part of the team that brokered all the deals,” said the source.

“They made phone calls, and set up the interviews within three days.”

“They wanted to get it all done before she was remanded to Lynwood and they did. It is a small solace to Lindsay while in jail that at least she can continue to make money in some way.”

Meanwhile, Lindsay is reportedly struggling in jail but her friends and family believe that she will come out refreshed when she finishes her rehab. She has already been visited by her ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

“She’s tough, but being in a cell is hard on her. She cries daily and her emotions are up and down,” she said.

“Everyday is a struggle to stay positive, but we all believe that she will be stronger when she finishes her sentence.”

“This is the beginning of a long road that will put her on the right path,” sources added.

Lindsay’s dad in hot water

Meanwhile, Lindsay’s father Michael has legal troubles of his own after being charged with harrassment for allegedly hitting his fiancee.

Michael Lohan, the father of Mean Girls actress and current California prisoner Lindsay Lohan, was charged on Thursday for allegedly attacking his fiancee, Kate Major, threatening to kill her, calling her a “c***” and kicking her in the face, TMZ reports, citing a Southampton Police Department complaint.

Lohan, 49, was officially charged in New York with second degree harassment after Major, 27, said she suffered “minor swelling on her lip” when he tossed her off a chair while she slept and then kicked her in the face.

“He walked over to me, took his shoe off and kicked me in my face while I was still on the ground,’” Major alleged, according to the police report.

“He stood over me and said, ‘I’m going to go back to jail cause of you, cause I will kill you.”

Lohan admitted the two argued but denied assaulting Major, saying she was “heavily intoxicated” at the time.

“Michael Lohan 100 percent denies each and every one of Kate Major’s allegations,” Lohan’s lawyer, Lisa Bloom, said in a statement.

“He has never threatened to harm her, never assaulted her, and never physically abused her in any way.”

The alleged assault Monday came the day before Lohan appeared in a Los Angeles court to support his daughter as she checked into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif. to begin serving her sentence for violating her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case in 2007.

As Lohan exited the courtroom to be handcuffed away from the glare of the cameras Tuesday, her dad told her “We love you, Lindsay,” People Magazine reported.

Michael Lohan proposed to Major, a former reporter who was once romantically linked to reality TV star Jon Gosselin, in April.

After hearing of her father’s engagement to Major, Lindsay Lohan reportedly responded, “I’m gonna vomit” reported Us Magazine at the time.

In 2007, Lohan divorced his first wife and mother of his four children, Dina.

If the police sources are to believe, Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan will serve only 14 days of her 90-day jail sentence. According to police documents, Lohan will only serve 14 days due to prison overcrowding, reported The Los Angeles Times.

In a short hearing Tuesday, judge Marsha Revel forbade Lohan from being released early under a work release or electronic monitoring program, reports the New York Post. The actress’ inmate information form on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department website still listed a projected release date of Sept. 9, 2010.

The owners of Playboy magazine have come up with a brand new website that they say is ‘safe’ to read at workplace. The new site, TheSmokingJacket.com, does not contain nudity that tends to make Playboy’s website inappropriate for the office. Instead, the creators claim that the website would bank upon humour to reach its target audience – men 25 to 34 years old – when they are most likely to be in front of a computer screen.

“A lot of our audience logs on (to Playboy.com) after work and we saw that we were missing a golden opportunity to reach guys when they’re online the most: when they’re sitting at their desk, not working, sending emails to their friends,” the Telegraph quoted Jimmy Jellinek, of Playboy as saying.

The site has been named after one of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s favourite pieces of clothing. Jellinek described it as “basically a jukebox of cool.” The site will dip into the Playboy archives with photographs like those from the 1983 Playmate Playoffs, in which bathing suit-clad women competed in games such as a tug-of-war.

It will also feature clips from talked-about television shows
and links to other popular websites and videos. “It’s all about social currency,” said Jellinek. “You want to be the first guy of your friends to send the funny joke, the crazy video … You can be the coolest guy among your friends if you’re the first person to circulate this information among them,” he added

Jennifer Aniston has been granted a restraining order against a man who was on a ‘delusional mission’ to locate and marry her. Jason Peyton, 24, was arrested earlier this month after he was found lying in wait at a location he thought the actress frequented but in fact has never been to, Aniston’s publicist said

According to TMZ, Peyton was found prowling near her Hollywood Hills home carrying a bag, a note, a roll of duct tape and messages about the 41-year-old star. His car was also carved with large messages reading, “I love Jennifer Aniston”.

Peyton is described as an “obsessed, mentally ill and delusional stalker with a history of violence and criminal stalking” in the documents, reports Sky News. He is also said to have driven his car cross-country in his “delusional mission” to locate and marry Aniston with “whom he believes he is in a relationship”.

Peyton has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from the home, work and vehicles of the former ‘Friends’ star.

Hayden Panettiere has dismissed rumours of troubles on the set of the upcoming Scream sequel. She insisted that the rumours about cast changes and arguments over the script are untrue.

There have been rumours suggesting actress Lake Bell dropping out just days before filming was due to begin and online gossips alleging Panettiere had fallen out with producers over the script. But Panettiere asserted the reports aren’t true because she’s having a ‘really good time’ working on the slasher picture.

“I don’t know whether it’s somebody projecting or, who knows where it came from, but ultimately it was very untrue and I love my character… I’m having a really good time doing it. It’s a really great cast,” the Daily Star quoted Panettiere as telling Access Hollywood.

“Wes Craven is an amazing human being and such a nice guy. It is such a pleasure to work with him… you can feel the crews at ease. They’re able to have fun – it’s not like twisting their arm to come to work. They actually really, really enjoy it, so it’s been a blast thus far,” she added.
