Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon says she was surprised to find love at the age of 35 as she has lots of wrinkles and quirks.
The actress, who walked the aisle for the second time with talent agent Jim Toth, 40 last month, says she was startled to get proposed.
“It’s an exciting feeling. (Somebody saying) ‘You’re the one,” Witherspoon told Elle magazine.
“And it’s a surprise. You know, I’m surprised when people who aren’t related to me see my movies. And you’re surprised somebody wants to be with you because, boy, I’ve got a lot of quirks and wrinkles,” she added.
Witherspoon wed Ryan Phillippe back in June 1999 when she was just 23. Their daughter Ava was born that September, with son Deacon arriving in October 2003; they divorced in late 2007.
In retrospect, the actress feels she was not ready for a marriage at that time.
“I was so, so young. I was, like, ridiculously young. I learned a lot, though. It was an excellent opportunity for me to really find out what it means to be a partner and to be in a marriage and it’s not anything that I thought it was,” she added.
